Sterling Holiday Resorts Opens Vanyatara Tadoba, Expanding Its Wildlife Tourism Portfolio
Sterling Holiday Resorts has opened Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba in Maharashtra’s Chimur region. The 18-key wilderness retreat strengthens the company’s presence in wildlife tourism and creates an opportunity to connect Tadoba with its existing resorts in Pench and Tipeshwar.

Sterling Adds Tadoba to Its Growing Wildlife Resort Network
Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL) has expanded its presence in India’s wildlife tourism market with the opening of Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba in the Chimur region of Maharashtra.
Announced on 16 October 2026, the new property adds Tadoba to Sterling’s growing portfolio of jungle resorts and reflects its focus on nature-led holidays, experiential travel and destination-based hospitality. The company aims to offer travellers more than conventional safari experiences by combining wildlife excursions with comfortable accommodation, regional cuisine and activities inspired by local culture.
The launch also strengthens Sterling’s presence in Maharashtra, a market with established wildlife tourism destinations that attract nature enthusiasts, families and safari travellers.
An 18-Key Wilderness Retreat Near Tadoba Safari Gates
Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba features 18 accommodation units across three categories: Indulge Rooms with sit-outs, Forest Villas with private lawns, and Two-Bedroom Villas designed for families and groups seeking additional space.
The property includes a swimming pool, spa and outdoor areas where guests can relax between excursions. Its location provides access to five safari gates associated with the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve: Alizanza, Madnapur, Shirkheda, Belara and Shedegaon. Safari access remains subject to permit availability and applicable booking arrangements.
By combining wildlife access with resort amenities, Sterling is positioning Vanyatara Tadoba as a destination for travellers who want to spend more time exploring the region rather than limiting their visit to a single safari.
Regional Cuisine and Nature-Led Guest Experiences
The resort’s offering extends beyond accommodation and wildlife excursions. Planned experiences include storytelling sessions with naturalists, cultural performances by Gond tribal artists and opportunities to explore regional food traditions.
Its restaurant, The Jungle Table, features cuisine inspired by the Vidarbha region, including Saoji-style dishes known for their robust flavours. The menu also includes regional favourites such as Zunka Bhakar with Thecha and Pitla, alongside Indian and international options.
Post-safari high teas and private outdoor dining are additional experiences designed to make the stay more immersive.
These features reflect a broader shift towards experiential tourism, where accommodation, food, local culture and nature-based activities contribute to the overall holiday experience.
Sterling Eyes a Pench–Tadoba–Tipeshwar Travel Circuit
One of the strategic opportunities arising from the new opening is the potential to connect Tadoba with Sterling’s existing resorts in Pench and Tipeshwar.
A multi-destination wildlife travel circuit could allow guests to explore different forest landscapes and regional experiences within a single itinerary. For Sterling, this approach could support longer holidays, encourage repeat visits and create opportunities to cross-sell stays across its destinations.
However, the proposed Pench–Tadoba–Tipeshwar circuit should be viewed as a strategic direction rather than an established travel package unless the company announces a formal itinerary.
Sterling’s Strategy for India’s Wildlife Tourism Market
Commenting on the expansion, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director and CEO of Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited, highlighted the company's ambition to make the forest itself a central part of the travel experience, supported by its landscape, ecology, culture and cuisine.
The company's approach reflects an effort to broaden the appeal of wildlife holidays beyond safari sightings. Comfortable accommodation, regional dining and nature-led experiences can help attract a wider range of travellers, including families and guests seeking a more relaxed wilderness retreat.
For the hospitality industry, this model also illustrates how destination-led resorts can differentiate themselves by building experiences around a region's natural and cultural assets.
What the Opening Means for Sterling Holiday Resorts
Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba adds another property to the company's nature-focused hospitality portfolio. Its longer-term opportunity will depend on traveller demand, resort performance and the development of connected itineraries across its wildlife destinations.
As interest in experiential travel and nature-based holidays continues to shape hospitality offerings, Sterling's expansion highlights the role of destination networks in creating differentiated leisure products.
The Tadoba opening is therefore more than an additional resort launch. It is another step in Sterling Holiday Resorts' effort to develop a connected portfolio of wildlife destinations across India.
